LOOKING AHEAD

The European Council approved conclusions on the priorities of the European Union in United Nations Human Rights fora in 2025.

The message from the conclusions is clear: the EU is committed to the universal respect of human rights for everyone, everywhere.

The EU and Australia will continue working together in international forums to defend human rights, promote accountability, and support gender equality and inclusion worldwide.

INTERESTING FACT

The Framework Agreement between the European Union (EU) and Australia was signed in the Philippines on 7 August 2017. Following ratification by Australia, the EU and all EU member states, the Agreement entered into force on 21 October 2022.
